• What compass are you following?
Everyone is going somewhere! Some faster, some slower but in the end we all end up somewhere. A sail boat charts the seas first by planning its direction and moving with the tides and winds.
In Lighthouse we have a clear vision. We believe in the power of alignment, like a team rowing together towards a destination.
• Where does our vision come from?
Our primary source of vision is from the Bible. We’re convinced its a message from heaven. The Bible reveals that Jesus gave two clear mandates to his disciples:
† His Great Command - Mark 12 v 30-31
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: `Love your neighbour as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."
† His Great Commission - Matt 28 v 19-20
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

• How do we apply this vision?
Our main focus is to do what Jesus did. He spent most of his time mentoring the twelve men around him and feeding their faith to believe that they could change the world. He taught them to move in the power of God and demonstrate the kingdom of heaven on earth.
To do this we invest heavily in our leaders, teaching and envisioning them to do the stuff that Jesus did. Our training includes the Encounter Track and School of Leaders. We also encourage regular seminars for our leaders. Examples of seminars attended include Bill Johnston’s “When Heaven invades Earth”, Patricia King’s “Extreme Prophetic” and Streams Ministries 101 and 102.
We also encourage our leaders to biblical studies. We currently have leaders studying through the Institute of Biblical Studies and the Sword of the Spirit school.

The vision of the Lighthouse Church is simple. Our goal is to saturate Edinburgh and the Lothians with communities of small groups that live and share the love of Jesus Christ. Our vision is to win people to Christ, connect them into a strong relationship with God and the church, disciple them into maturity and release them to become a person of influence.
